Results for the Leicestershire Agricultural Society Charity Ploughing Match
The Leicestershire Agricultural Society Charity Ploughing Match, held on Saturday, 27 October 2007 at Rothley, was run for the Macmillan Nurses in conjunction with the National Hedgelaying Competition.
The weather was fine on the day and the ground was excellent for the ploughing competitors.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr A Cooper for allowing us to use his land and for his help in the organisation of the event.
Forty three competitors took part in the five classes and the ploughing was of a particularly high standard making the task of judging a very difficult one. A very big thank you must go to our judges, Mr G Allwood, Mr I Dakin, Mr B Phillips and Mr R Sharp and also to our steward, Mr Sam Gilbert, whose hard work both before the March and on the day was very much appreciated.

Overall Champion of the Match was Mr M R Taylor who was awarded the Hillside Garage Perpetual Cup.

Results for the Leicestershire Agricultural Society Ploughing Match
The Sun shone! That was one of the first things to report from the Leicestershire Agricultural Society's annual Ploughing Match which was held on Sunday 16th September at Dob Hall Farm, Little Stretton in Leicestershire.
The venue provided excellent ground for the ploughing competitors and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Farm Care for their generous support by allowing us the use of the land and Mr Nick Padwick, the Enterprise Manager, for his help in the organisation of the event.
Thirty eight competitors took part in the six classes and the standard of ploughing was incredibly high throughout, making the judging a difficult task for our experts; Mr G S Dickinson, Mr R Griffin, Mr P Mount, Mr H S Mumford, Mr R T Norman and Mr R Sharp.
Classes started at 10 am prompt and after four hours of immense concentration by the ploughmen and the results had been calculated the prizes were awarded as follows;
