Photography Competition

Entries will be displayed in the Countryside Marquee

Entry fee: £3.00 (£2.50 for two or more entries)

Closing date: April 10th 2009.

Theme: Rural Life

Section groups: 1) 18yrs and under 2) Over 18yrs.

Classes: 1) Animals 2) Plants 3) Portrait

Championship Prizes: 1st £100, 2nd £50, 3rd £25

People’s Choice: £50

Rules:

Please submit an un-mounted 6”x8” hard copy of each entry to be sent to the show office with the name, address, telephone number and email of entrant and monies due, by the closing date.
The class and section number must be on the reverse of each photo.Please do not write any other information on the photos as entries will be kept anonymous.
Photos must be the entrant’s own work and must not be edited using any computer programme or software.
Entries will be judged by a panel and 1st – 4th rosettes awarded in each category for both sections. The 24 finalists will then be put forward for the Championship prizes.
The People’s Choice will be judged over the 3rd and 4th May by the visitors to the Leicestershire County Show.
Winners for both the Championship and the People’s Choice to be announced on the 4th May 2009.
Rosettes for the 24 finalists will be displayed next to each exhibit as from 2pm on the 4th May.
Finalists will forfeit their rosettes and photo if they are not present at the show.
Prize money will be sent out after the show by May 31st 2009. No prize money will be handed out at the show.
Prizes stated above apply to either section entered e.g 1st prize of £100 is awarded to the 18yrs and under winner as well as the over 18’s winner.
By entering the competition you agree to allow the Leicestershire Agricultural Society to reproduce the images however they wish. The photographer will retain the copyright.
