Not impressed with the slightly strange garden designs at the Chelsea Flower Show? Know that your flower arranging skills are second to none, and want to shout it out to potential customers? The Leicestershire County Show invites everyone to have a go in their brand new horticultural competitions. From contemporary and traditional table top or floor standing flower arranging (Top tip – just buy the flowers from your local florist – you don’t have to grow them yourself!) to Show Borders (ideal for a garden centres wanting to show off plant ranges and expertise knowledge) to full garden design plans (again another ideal opportunity for local designers to show off their talent) to even a competition for most innovative garden or smallholding tool, so there realy is something for everyone.  There are some exciting cash prizes up to £100 for one winner and plenty of marketing support of any budding professionals. In addition to this there is a special Horticultural club award for the club represented by the highest amount of accumulative points gained by its members. This award is also backed by marketing support separate to that of the competition winners. If that isn’t enough to get the seeds of thought planted, how about discounted entry to the show? The sum of your entry fee can be deducted from the price of an entry ticket up to a maximum of £5. So not only could you win £100 you also get a serious discount on tickets.  Get planning  though, as entries close on the 17th April 2009.For further details please visit www.leicestershireshow.co.uk or ring 01509 646786  *** END *** Notes to Editor: Further information: Liz Earle, Show Director.
