Marketing Activities

Then considering sponsorship opportunities the main question on many organisations’ minds is how will the show deliver the crowds, the brand exposure and create value for the sponsors?  One element of achieving these objectives is the marketing activities undertaken to promote and develop the show. Please find a brief explanation of varied, but focused elements of the marketing campaign. (All media schedules are subject to change).

Public Relations -As well as hosting a number of press conferences the Society is actively involved in a number of community based projects.  These include talking to schools about cooking, healthy eating and the supply chain of food manufacturing. In addition, the Society has been actively involved in the LOVE FOOD HATE WASTE campaign within Leicestershire County Council.

Direct Marketing - Direct marketing is not just about junk mail. We regularly undertake direct marketing activities that target specific market segments using data held on our substantial data bases that have been built up over many years. This is achieved through traditional postage and a comprehensive email campaign.

Website -All sponsors have the opportunity to utilise the website and we are flexible in our approach to the best ways of maximising your sponsorship opportunity through our web page. (Currently under development)

Posters and Flyer - We will aim to distribute up to 3,000 posters locally to shops, hotels, waiting rooms, farms shops, supermarkets etc. In addition, through our network of young farmers we will distribute in the region of  100,000 flyers  within the six weeks prior to the show. With the strong links that we have with  the farming community in the county we are very fortunate to be able to display a huge number of large advertising boards promoting the show. A detailed list of the number of display boards and the exact locations is available upon request.

Newspapers/ Magazines -Adverts are placed in all of the good quality regional, daily and weekly paid for newspapers and  a number of specialist monthly magazines. In many cases the adverts run up to four weeks prior to the show. All adverts are sizeable and placed in prominent areas of the publication.  In addition, we are in discussion with a major newspaper about being a media partner for the event.  A full list of publications is available upon request.

Regional TV / Regional Radio -We have a good relationship with both the independent and BBC regional news broadcasters and, although not guaranteed, the show is frequently featured on the regional news programmes. In addition, we often undertake a comprehensive radio advertising campaign that accompanies the newspaper and magazine advertising schedules.
