Country Pursuits
Hunting, Fishing, Shooting and Conservation is the core of the countryside. This areas is suited for, both, beginners or the experienced hand offering the chance to have-a-go or develop your already established skills. Our experts are ready to coach and advise offering a snap shot into the core traditional sports in the country side.
CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING
The coaching lines will be manned by fully experienced coaches, who will be providing the highest quality guidance and tuition for all ages and abilities, from those taking their first shots, through to experienced guns wishing to improve their technique. The team will be committed to making the introduction to shotgun shooting, a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience.Obviously this is a new addition and naturally it will be structured and operated in such a way that it will recognise the need to be sympathetic to equestrian area. The competitions will be sections to accommodate beginners, novice and experience shots.
In addition, structured lessons are available and a gun fitting service all man by BASC qualified instructors. A dedicated parking area will be provided for people that are arriving with firearms.
Archery & Cross Bows
In association with Melton Mowbray Archery Club the section will encourage beginners and experience hands to experiment and enjoy archery under the watch full eye of the clubs experts. The participant has the choice of a number of targets including selecting from famous politicians, well known factious villains or simple a traditional target. A great activity for the who family.
Airguns
Similarly to all of the Country Pursuits Section the area provides beginners, intermediate and advanced sections. Situated within the shooting zone the expert tutors are willing and able to help develop the sharpest shooter and with the same enthusiasm and professionalism they are happy to assist people who have never held an airgun before.
Fishing
Utilising our temporary lake the fishing section will offer advice and expert tuition on distance casting and accuracy and will be a integral part of our pentathlon competition that will be taking place at the show. More details to follow.
Pentathlon Competition
Members of the public can enter a multi disciplined events that cultivates all of the skills developed in each of the country pursuits areas. The competition is a qualifier for the four other events that will be happening within the UK during 2010. The finally of the competition will take place at Harewood House in September.
